Barys Nur-Sultan club of the KHL which is based in Kazakhstan has agreed with another KHL team – AkBars Kazan that they will allow the Kazakh club to hold their home games in their city.
The COVID-19 situation in Kazakhstan isn’t getting any better, in the last 24 hours, there have been over a thousand positive cases. As the country is far from easing any of the restrictions for quarantine and self-isolation Barys wouldn’t be able to host any teams traveling in to play games.

The team was on a lookout for places to play in Russia and had two options. After some negotiations and discussions, the Kazan side decided to allow Barys to play in Kazan Sports Palace. Meanwhile, AkBars have been playing in TatNeft Arena since 2005.
Sports-Business is reporting that Barys have yet to make a final decision but there would be no issues for two teams to share the city as it has enough hotels to host more than 5-6 teams at once.
