If everything goes according to plan – KHL is set to begin their season on September 2nd.
The season will get underway with the annual Opening Cup and will be played between CSKA Moscow and AkBars Kazan in Moscow.
Prior to the release of the schedule leagues’ Board of Directors held a vote to determine if all clubs that had applied would be eligible to play in the upcoming season.
Per KHL: ”On August 7, 2020, at an online meeting of the KHL Board of Directors, the 23 clubs to take part in the 2020/2021 championship were confirmed. After reviewing all of the documentation provided by the league, the board agreed to confirm that, for the coming season, the KHL will run with 23 competing teams.”
