The KHL has determined the best players for the seventh week of the KHL season. We once again have some familiar names.
The best goalie, 29-year-old Joni Ortio of Barys Nursulant. He appeared in three games on the road winning all of them as he recorded one shutout. His unbeaten streak lasted for 96 minutes and 15 seconds. The Finnish goalie turned away 94.7 percent of the opposing shots. His team currently holds eighth place in the East.
The best defenseman is Lawrance Pilut of Traktor Chelyabinsk. He played in three games in which his team won all of them. The Swede managed to record two assists and a positive plus/minus of three. He also ranks first in the plus/minus category on his team. Traktor currently sits sixth in the East.
Best forward also comes from the Eastern conference – Metallurg Magnitogorsk’s Andrei Chibisov. Five points (2G+3A) and a positive plus/minus of 2 gave him the honors. Chibisov is only fourth in scoring on his team but if he can carry on this performance, he’s bound to rise. Magnitka is fourth in their conference.
The best young player is AkBars Kazan goalie Amir Miftakhov. The twenty-year-old prospect recorded his first career KHL shutout. His unbeaten streak lasted for 121 minutes and 97 seconds. In total, he turned away 97.9 percent of the shots he faced. The Tatarstan Capital’s representing team currently sits third in the East.
