In the office of the Russian Hockey Federation, members of the staff of the national team held a meeting under the leadership of the President of the RHF Vladislav Tretyak. It was attended by the head of staff, first vice-president of the RHF Roman Rotenberg, the head coach of the junior team Igor Larionov, as well as the coaches of the Russian U20 national team.
One thing that we know for sure – The Russians will retain Igor Larionov and his staff, as the planning for the next years World Juniors has already begun.
The topic of the meeting was the performance of the Russian junior team at the WJC-2021 in Edmonton. A report from the coaching staff was heard with a detailed analysis of the reasons for the team’s unsatisfactory performance.

”The task was to win gold medals at the World Juniors, and it was not completed. Now we with the coaching staff and RHF are jointly analyzing and sorting out the mistakes that were made. Conclusions will be made, they will be taken into account when preparing the team for WJC-2022. We continue to work within the framework of the current RHF strategy.
