The 2020-21 NHL Season is underway. Fans and gambling sites alike are excited about hockey’s return. It will be a season like no other. Sites like Sports Interaction immediately put up early odds for teams to win the Stanley Cup to go along with different prop bets for each individual award. One of those individual awards is the 2020-21 Vezina Trophy. As it stands right now Andrei Vasilevskiy is the favourite to win that award. But don’t sleep on some others in that category.

Andrei Vasilevskiy +459
Well, it should be no surprise that Andrei Vasilevksiy is the favourite to win the 2020-21 Vezina Trophy. He was one of the finalists last season. He ended up finishing third in the voting. However, Andrei Vasilevskiy was a huge reason why the Tampa Bay Lightning won the Stanley Cup last season. He is already off to a flying start. And with the team in front of him, he may not get the respect he deserves. If he puts up similar numbers like he did last season there is no reason why he shouldn’t take home the hardware again.
Smart Value Plays
Connor Hellebuyck +800
Looking down the list we see Connor Hellebuyck the reigning, defending, undisputed Vezina Trophy winner. He has a good value of +800 to repeat. Just look at that Winnipeg Jets team. The defence is pretty much the same and he carried the Jets into the playoffs last season. He had to be pretty much perfect every night. And he will need to get the offensive support as well. Hellebuyck is one of the top goalies in the Canadian or North Division. However, there are other good value plays including Carey Price at +800.
Carter Hart +900
One player to keep an eye on is Carter Hart of the Philadelphia Flyers. The Flyers have finally found their man in Hart after calling him from the minors a couple of seasons ago. In a tough East division, the Flyers have the goaltender to get them in the playoffs. He had a 2.42 goals-against average, and a .914 save percentage and was a reason why the Flyers got to the second round of the playoffs. One thing that does stand out is that 20 of 24wins came on home ice. If Hart is going to win this award he will have to learn to win on the road.
Sneaky Good Plays
Tuukka Rask and Jordan Binnington +1400
Two sneaky good plays are Tuukka Rask and Jordan Binnington at +1400. Rask especially because he finished second last season in Vezina Trophy voting. For some reason, Rask does not get the love he should get. Like Vasilevskiy, Rask plays on one of the better teams in the NHL. However, it still doesn’t take away from the fact that he still needs to make the saves. He had a 2.12 goals-against average, and a .929 save percentage. Those are solid numbers, he does that again he will win it.
Lots of people are picking Jordan Binnington to win the Vezina Trophy this season. The West division has some weaker competition. But if Binnington continues his strong play after the opening night win, his value is good. Binnington is looking for a bounce-back season after he burst on the scene during his rookie season. The Blues are a good team but will need Binnington to be at his best.
Worth a Flyer
A player you might want to take a flyer on is Mackenzie Blackwood (+2200). Especially Blackwood who will be carrying the load for the New Jersey Devils. though he finished fifth in Calder Trophy voting, he had the most wins amongst rookie goalies last season.
The choice is yours and yours alone, but these are some helpful tips to guide you through the 2020-21 NHL Season.
