The Carolina Hurricanes are loaded with more long-term prospects than most teams. Their system is strong and it has a lot of runway. That’s all you can ask for from a scouting staff perspective, and that’s after trading a few prospects this past offseason.
1. Seth Jarvis
He’s a goal scorer with quick hands who is deadly around the net. The fact that he’s a center adds to his profile making him very valuable. Jarvis scored 11 points in nine AHL games for the Chicago Wolves. Seven of them were goals which is no surprise.

2. Ryan Suzuki
This center has a smooth easy motion for his wrist shot and can make a simple pass to set up goals. Nick’s brother, not as good as Nick, but there’s plenty of upside here and the speed is there too.
3. Jack Drury
This winger is a good skater, excellent forechecker, and a player with a nose for the net. He can score goals down low, and he makes very skilled passes. Son of Ted.
4. Jamieson Rees
This center is a catalyst on the ice. Rees is a hard worker, and he draws penalties with puck possession. He has good hands as well.
5. Pyotr Kochetkov
This goalie has a strong mental game. He can make the great rolling save aggressively when necessary. He’s hard to score low against him, and he had a .931 save percentage in the KHL last season.

6. Noel Gunler
The SHLer has a hard wrist shot. The right wing can make that cross-ice, tape-to-tape pass on the power play. He has the look of a future sniper as he gets more playing time.
7. Aleksi Heimosalmi
This offensive defenseman has a terrific shot, especially on the power-play. He has good speed and wins a fair amount of puck battles.
8. Ville Koivunen
There’s a ton of upside with this right wing who plays in Karpat. He’s never met a shot he didn’t like, but he’s a skilled playmaker as well.
9. Zion Nybeck
This smaller winger has a great shot, and he’s strong on the puck. He continues to work on his speed and explosiveness, and in Sweden’s #2 league he has started the 2021-22 campaign with three goals and five points in his first three games.
10. Scott Morrow
This defenseman is headed to UMass. He can move the puck easily. Morrow is an excellent passer with an accurate point shot on the power play.
