The Washington Capitals promoted most of their best talent from this list but they have more coming in the pipeline. The Capitals are a team that can fill out a blueline and always have a few choice centers as well.
Connor McMichael
McMichael has one thing he’s very good at, that is the way he pounces on loose pucks to get goals. He’s dangerous around the net. If he gets some space his shot is deadly. He can play anywhere in the lineup. All his NHL points are at even strength, and his faceoffs need work.

Hendrix Lapierre
A terrifically skilled offensive wiz, Lapierre had some injuries over the years and the pandemic took away some of his potential game experience. He’s got a high ceiling but must prove it with reps. His work on the power play is impressive as well.
Martin Fehervary
Defenseman Martin Fehervary is an excellent puck mover, who can play solid, physical defense and frustrate opponents. He will always get some points but never be a big point producer.
Brett Leason
Right-winger Brett Leason is fast, and he gets to the net. This 6-5 forward likes that middle slot area to shoot from. He has a slick wrist shot. Leason is strong and sturdy.
Axel Jonsson-Fjallby
Jonsson-Fjallby is a fast, smart, left-winger with a strong two-way game. He has good offensive upside but nothing that would suggest he could be a top liner at the NHL level.

Aliaksei Protas
At 6-foot-6, center Aliaksei Protas has a long stick that can score his wrist shot from different places on the ice. He will look for loose pucks in the slot especially on the power play. He has played some time on the top line with Alex Ovechkin in his rookie season.
Axelander Alexeyev
Axelander Alexeyev is a 6-foot-4, puck-moving defenseman with a good ceiling. He can be a lot for opposing teams to handle.
Brent Johnson
Defenseman Brent Johnson brings the puck up the ice well. He has good vision and he’s a good passer. His wrist shot is very good. On occasion, he can get turnstiled on defense
Bear Hughes
He’s a good skater with a plus wrist shot and a solid one-timer. Hughes is very effective on the power play and when his line is on the rush.
Mitchell Gibson
Hailing from the same hometown as Mike Piazza, (Phoenixville, PA), Mitchell Gibson is a big, athletic goalie who is aggressive and good at reading and reacting. Started in the NAHL and is now with Harvard University.
