The Bruins completed the trade with the Anaheim Ducks for Lindholm on Saturday, sending a package of Uhro Vaakaneinen, John Moore, a 2022 first-round pick, a 2023 second-round pick, and a 2024 second-round pick. It didn’t take long for general manager Don Sweeney to re-sign the 28-year-old left-shot defenseman as the new contract was announced on Sunday.

Head coach Bruce Cassidy spoke about Lindholm and the state of the Bruins after the trade.
“We’re a better team today,” Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy said. “He has a legitimate top-four resume in the National Hockey League. [He’s] playoff-tested, still young. He’s a real good add for us.”
Lindholm’s work speaks for itself. He is a rock-solid defenceman that can eat a ton of minutes and play in all situations. Not only that Lindholm uses his size and mobility to his advantage. He is not afraid to get physical when the time calls for it. In addition, Lindholm is not afraid to join the rush when he sees fit. That is what he has done for the Ducks since being drafted 6th overall in the first round by the Ducks in the 2012 NHL Draft. Lindholm brings a ton of playoff experience as well playing in 55 games recording 21 points (four goals and 17 assists). Again Lindholm is more of a lockdown defenceman than an offensive powerhouse. This is why the Bruins traded for him.
“That’s somewhere I always want to be,” said Lindholm at his introductory press conference. “I love playing in the playoffs. I’ve missed it the last few years (in Anaheim). I was very fortunate my first couple years to all be in the playoffs and even go a few rounds. There’s nothing more fun. I can only imagine (doing it) in Boston. There’s a lot to be done to get there but I’m ready to go to battle with everyone.”
So far this year, Lindholm has 22 points (five goals and 17 assists) in 61 games.
