SEASON SYNOPSIS
The 2021-22 Belleville Senators rejoined the North Division after residing in the temporary Canadian Division for the 2021 campaign. After going back and forth with wins and losses, the B-Sens hunkered down in the home stretch, winning seven of its last eight games. Belleville finished the season in fourth place in the North, with a 40-28-4 record, 84 points, and a .583 points percentage. The Sens’ last two victories over Toronto eliminated the Marlies from playoff contention, paving the way for Rochester to meet Belleville in the first round. After two straight 4-3 OT losses, the B-Sens were swept two games to none in a best-of-three series against the Amerks.
Belleville had two scorers over 50 points last year — forwards Jake Lucchini (20G + 31A = 51 PTS in 72 GP) and Egor Sokolov (19G +31A = 50 PTS in 64 GP). Lucchini and AHL vet Andrew Agozzino both came in at 20 goals apiece, as well. Rookie Mads Søgaard played in 35 contests for the B-Sens, while Filip Gustavsson and Kevin Mandolese chipped in 20 and 17 games played, respectively.
