SEASON SYNOPSIS
The 2021-22 Providence Bruins had a very solid regular season, compiling a 36-25-11 record with 83 points and a .576 points percentage. In fact, Providence was atop the Atlantic Division on April 20 with just six games remaining. However, the P-Bruins struggled to finish out the year strong, losing those final six games (0-5-1) while falling to third in the division. The losing streak extended into the postseason, as the Bridgeport Islanders won two consecutive overtime games in a best-of-three first round to eliminate the Bruins.
Providence boasted not one but two 40+ point scorers last season — Cameron Hughes (14G + 31A = 45 PTS in 59 GP) and Steven Fogarty (12G + 30A = 42 PTS in 62 GP). Hughes led the Bruins in assists in 2021-22, while Zach Senyshyn posted a team-high 19 goals before Boston traded him to Ottawa on March 21. Goaltender Troy Grosenick posted a 16-6-4 record with a 2.00 goals against average, .933 save percentage, and three shutouts. Fellow netminder Kyle Keyser led Providence with 33 games played in net.
