The USHL had its annual Fall Classic in Cranberry, PA. They had all 16 teams there including the NTDP. Every team played two games. A good amount of 2023 NHL-drafted players will come out of the USHL. Here are some of the 2023 NHL draft-eligible players who looked good in their first two games.
2023 NHL Draft Eligible
Oliver Moore – Left Wing – He plays for the NTDP and was playing on the second line. Moore’s speed through the neutral zone is special. Moore has an excellent one-timer. His passing is accurate, and his puck possession is good.

William Whitelaw – Center – Youngstown has him listed as a center, but he wasn’t taking all the face-offs. He was good on the wing and lined up there at times. He changes angles on his hard wrist shot. He works well in traffic too.
Maxim Strbak – Defense – This right-handed shot defenseman was playing top pairing for Sioux Falls. He’s smart with the puck and a good passer. He uses his body to hit and block shots. Strbak will produce points with his accurate shot.

Lucas St. Louis – Defense – He’s the son of Martin and his brother Ryan is on the Dubuque roster and on the same power play. His skating is terrific, and he’s a battler who takes no guff. His clears are safe, and his wrist shot from the point gets through.
Will Smith – Center – The NTDP center started slow and then got a game-winning goal. He plays in all situations. His skill level is high. Smith has the kind of speed that can beat defenders by the wall.
Jayden Perron – Right Wing – This talented winger played on the second line in both of his games for Chicago. He set up a goal in one game and showed a solid defensive game in the other.
Chris Delaney – Center – He moved up from Chicago’s fourth line in the first game to the third line the next game. Delaney is fast. He’s good on face-offs, fast with the puck, and has a terrific two-way presence. At 5’6”, let’s see what the future brings.
Gabe Perreault – Right Wing – He played top-line right wing in both games for the NTDP. Perreault is 17 until May, so time is on his side. His father is Yanic. He’s fast with a good, deceptive shot. His game needs some work, but the high-end part of his game is what makes him an attractive prospect.
