2023 San Jose Barracuda Offseason Player Tracker

SEASON SYNOPSIS

On October 22, 2022, the San Jose Barracuda opened up the newly built Tech CU Arena against the Henderson Silver Knights. After defeating Henderson in both the Saturday and Sunday games of the home series, the Barracuda held a 4-0-0 record to start the season.

It was all downhill from there.

A five-game losing streak immediately followed the hot start. For the rest of the season, the San Jose Barracuda could only string together three wins or more in a row one time. Even with 11 more victories than last season, San Jose only managed to finish eighth in the Pacific Division (as opposed to last year’s ninth place outcome) with a 31-34-7 record and 69 points. For the second season in a row, the San Jose Barracuda missed out on the expanded Calder Cup Playoffs.

Long-tenured veteran forward Andrew Agozzino led the San Jose Barracuda in goals (26), assists (35), and total points. Agozzino’s 61 points was the third time posting a 60-point season in his AHL career; he accrued 60 points with the Colorado Eagles in 2018-19 and 64 points with the Lake Erie Monsters in 2014-15.
